Twin Eagles Wilderness School
eNewsletter - November 2025

Greetings from all of us at Twin Eagles Wilderness School! Here in the Inland Northwest, the landscape is in graceful transition. Most of the leaves have already fallen, yet golden larch needles still shimmer against the gray sky before drifting down to join the forest floor. The canopy is nearly bare now, revealing the quiet bones of the trees and the soft light of late November. It’s a time of slowing down, of drawing inward, as the Earth begins her long rest. Thanksgiving is just around the corner, inviting us to notice what we’re truly grateful for in this turning season.

Here at Twin Eagles, most of our autumn programs have now wrapped up. We’re beginning to enter the season of quieting down and resting, while also dreaming and planning future possibilities. We already know we’ll be offering another Father Son Wilderness Program in summer or fall of 2026, and our vision for Summer Camps 2026 is coming into focus. Registration for those will likely open in February. As the year turns and we prepare for winter’s stillness, we invite you to explore what is ahead and notice what sparks interest, excitement, or possibility for you and your family.

Here is what we have in store for you in this month's eNewsletter:
  • Homeschool Youth Nature Program - Winter & Spring Blocks 2025-26
  • Teen Winter Snow Cave Expedition 2026
  • Spring Alive Spring Break Camp 2026

Girls Rite of Passage

For 13 - 16 year old girls
Thursday April 30 - Sunday May 3, 2026
Medicine Circle Eco-Retreat, Priest River, ID

Girls Rite of Passage The journey from childhood to adolescence is a dramatic time of development. Just like the fledgling bird that leaves the nest, the Girls Rite of Passage is an opportunity for girls to expand their wings and begin to take flight. It's a crossing. A place where two roads meet. Those two roads are where your daughter was once a child and is now emerging into adolescence.

This program is a coming of age ritual that has been taking place since humans have been on the planet. These types of traditions are common throughout the world and across cultures. It's a unique blueprint that stands apart from every day ordinary life and at the same time, brings new depth, understanding and meaning to it.

Mother-Daughter Program

For mothers and their 8 - 13 year old daughters
Friday May 15 - Monday May 18, 2026
Medicine Circle Eco-Retreat - Priest River, Idaho

Mother Daughter Program Imagine having a time where you and your daughter can retreat to nature to nurture your relationship with one another. Imagine being nestled in a community and the common bond of other mothers and their daughters in the sanctuary of nature. Accompanying you on this adventure are female guides who can hold you and your relationship with your daughters as sacred and support the growth of your relationship when and where it counts. It's a time to really be present to your journey as a mother and to that very special gift in front of you - your daughter.

Father Son Wilderness Program

For fathers and their 9 - 13 year old sons
Thursday May 21 - Monday May 25, 2026 (Memorial Day Weekend)
Medicine Circle Eco-Retreat - Priest River, Idaho

Father Son Wilderness Program Imagine taking five days with your son(s), and connecting deeply with nature and your boy(s) through ancestral wilderness survival skills, all within a small "tribe" of other fathers & sons that are like minded with similar values. During this program, we'll make fire by friction, build and sleep in natural shelters, learn traditional hunting and gathering techniques, and track wild animals. Primitive wilderness survival isn't a "Man vs. Wild" scenario, it is an opportunity to build a deep relationship with the Earth. As you and your son do so, you'll find that your relationship with your son deepens in powerful ways.

Twin Eagles Wilderness Skills Instructor Training Program

Wednesday May 27 - Friday June 5, 2026
Camp Stidwell, Sandpoint, Idaho
Adults 18+. Motivated older teens considered on an individual basis.

Wilderness Skills Instructor Training Program

Ten days. One unforgettable journey into the heart of nature and the art of mentoring. The first half dives into wilderness skills, building and sleeping in natural shelters, making fire by friction, tracking wildlife, harvesting wild edible and medicinal plants, and learning the subtle language of the forest. These days ground you in confidence, awareness, and deep connection to the land.

Then we turn to nature-based mentoring, where you learn to pass these teachings on. Discover how to inspire curiosity and connection in others through mentoring, storytelling, games, and the ancient model of the medicine wheel. Experience what it means to guide through presence, curiosity, and authentic relationship.

This program is far more than learning skills. It is a transformational journey into your own confidence, awareness, and belonging. Guided by seasoned mentors, you will reconnect with what truly matters: the Earth, community, and your authentic self.
