At Twin Eagles, we believe that connecting deeply with nature is critical to whole child development. The experiences we offer bring kids back to a simpler, more connected way of life where their senses are honed to once again hear the call of the wild, revel in the feeling of mud squishing between their toes, delight in the beauty of wildflowers, and listen to the music in mountain streams. Kids develop authentic resiliency through real world challenges and traditional earth based skills as they experience the deep peace of the natural world.

Our highly trained instructors draw out kids' passions through nature based activities like:
  • Making fire by friction
  • Learning edible & medicinal plants
  • Exploring natural mysteries
  • Tracking wild animals
  • Building natural shelters
  • Discovering the language of the forest
  • Training as the native scouts of old did
  • Learning earth based crafts, stories, songs
  • and much, much more!

Girls Rite of Passage

For 13 - 16 year old girls
Thursday April 30 - Sunday May 3, 2026
Medicine Circle Eco-Retreat, Priest River, ID

Girls Rite of Passage The journey from childhood to adolescence is a dramatic time of development. Just like the fledgling bird that leaves the nest, the Girls Rite of Passage is an opportunity for girls to expand their wings and begin to take flight. It's a crossing. A place where two roads meet. Those two roads are where your daughter was once a child and is now emerging into adolescence.

This program is a coming of age ritual that has been taking place since humans have been on the planet. These types of traditions are common throughout the world and across cultures. It's a unique blueprint that stands apart from every day ordinary life and at the same time, brings new depth, understanding and meaning to it.

Boys Rite of Passage

For 13 - 16 year old boys
Wednesday May 6 - Sunday May 10, 2026
Free Parent Intro Zoom Meeting: Tuesday, March 10 @ 6:30 pm Pacific

Boys Rite of Passage Something ancient happens when a boy crosses into adolescence, whether we name it or not. In the pace of modern life, we rarely slow down long enough to acknowledge that threshold, and boys often end up finding their own initiations. Some are healthy. Some are not.

This May, Twin Eagles will hold our annual Boys Rite of Passage for ages 13 - 16. This is a formal, community-based initiation rooted in deep nature connection, real relationship, and ceremony from beginning to end. The boys are guided by trained adult mentors, and the overall arc follows the classic pattern of separation, ordeal, and reintegration. Done well, this becomes a landmark moment in a boy’s life and a stabilizing gift for the family and community.

We’re hosting a free parent Zoom intro call to walk through the vision, logistics, and how we assess readiness, including what we recommend if your son is newer to Twin Eagles or still a few years away. Parents of younger boys are welcome, even if this isn’t your year. If you’re not a parent but feel genuinely aligned with this work, you’re welcome to reach out as well.

If you’d like to attend the intro Zoom, reply to this email and let us know. We’ll send you the details.

Accompanying you on this adventure are female guides who can hold you and your relationship with your daughters as sacred and support the growth of your relationship when and where it counts. It's a time to really be present to your journey as a mother and to that very special gift in front of you - your daughter.

New Father Son Wilderness Programs 2026

For fathers and their 9 - 13 year old sons
Memorial Day Weekend, May 21 - 25 - Nearly Full
New Summer Session, August 21 - 25 - Now Open
Medicine Circle Eco-Retreat - Priest River, Idaho

Father Son Wilderness Program Because this program continues to fill quickly, we’ve added a second Father Son session this August. Our Memorial Day program is nearly full, and the new summer program is now open for registration.

Imagine taking five days with your son, connecting deeply with nature through ancestral wilderness survival skills, all within a small "tribe" of other fathers & sons that are like minded with similar values. During this program, we'll make fire by friction, build and sleep in natural shelters, learn traditional hunting and gathering techniques, and track wild animals. Primitive wilderness survival isn't a "Man vs. Wild" scenario, it is an opportunity to build a deep relationship with the Earth. As you and your son do so, you'll find that your relationship deepens in powerful ways.

Twin Eagles Wilderness Skills Instructor Training Program

Camp Stidwell, Sandpoint, Idaho
Adults 18+. Motivated older teens considered on an individual basis.

Wilderness Skills Instructor Training Program

Ten days. One unforgettable journey into the heart of nature and the art of mentoring. These days ground you in confidence, awareness, and deep connection to the land.

Then we turn to nature-based mentoring, where you learn to pass these teachings on. Discover how to inspire curiosity and connection in others through mentoring, storytelling, games, and the ancient model of the medicine wheel. Experience what it means to guide through presence, curiosity, and authentic relationship.

This program is far more than learning skills. It is a transformational journey into your own confidence, awareness, and belonging. Guided by seasoned mentors, you will reconnect with what truly matters: the Earth, community, and your authentic self.
