Twin Eagles Wilderness School
eNewsletter - April 2020

Warm Spring Greetings from all of us here at Twin Eagles Wilderness School. Like you, we're continually adapting to the changes presented by the coronavirus pandemic. Amidst all of the ups and downs, the cycles of nature continue to unfold as they always have, bringing us much needed peace and solace. Tadpoles are bursting forth, songbirds are nesting, dandelions are blooming, and deer have shed their heavy winter coats. All of nature continues to follow it's original instructions, reminding us humans of our place in the great web of life and offering us a place of refuge.

What follows is our most up-to-date information on how we're proceeding into the spring and summer here at Twin Eagles, with a special emphasis on our summer camps that many of you have been asking about. Now more than ever, we remain committed to supporting you and your family to connect deeply to the natural world. As people gradually emerge from their cocoons, Twin Eagles is here to encourage our collective reunion with one another and the Earth.

Here is what we have in store for you in this months eNewsletter:

Coronavirus Pandemic Update

There have been lots of questions about how the pandemic is impacting our programs. As always, we are prioritizing safety first. We're also committed to bringing our nature connection programs to all of you who love the Twin Eagles experience so much, and don't want to miss out on our unique expression of deep nature connection mentoring that has become such an integral experience of your life and/or your children's lives.

Late Spring & Summer Programs are Still Happening!

With the states of Idaho and Washington expected to begin carefully re-opening starting in May, our in-person programs will resume soon, starting in late May. We're committed to support a safe transition for all, and are implementing the following practices once our in-person programs start back up:
  • All programs will take place 100% outdoors, as always.
  • We may modify the way participants sign in and out of programs.
  • We may add new sanitation and hygiene protocols.
  • We may modify portions of our programs that have traditionally involved large group gatherings to support smaller groups.
  • You'll receive a 100% full refund or transfer if your program is canceled for any reason, including due to coronavirus.
Early Spring Programs Postponed or Moved Online

All of our in-person programs scheduled from mid-March through mid-May have been either rescheduled to a later time or brought online, in order to ensure safety and support social distancing. We brought our year-round youth programs online, where we've been very successfully meeting via Zoom to keep the nature based mentoring relationships alive!

This change has come with some incredible affirmations from mother nature like finding an active coyote den with super-cute coyote pups, watching powerful life & death moments of predator prey relationships unfold with hawks & doves, and beautiful moments of synchronicity amongst mentors and students with medicinal plants. We're keeping the magic of deep nature connection mentoring alive and well!

Summer Camps 2020 Are Still Happening!

Outdoor Adventure Camp

Summer Camps ARE Happening! We're closely monitoring local, regional and state guidance and are grateful that our summer camps will be happening in Sandpoint, Coeur d'Alene, Spokane and Priest River. It is our understanding at this time that programs that provide child care support, such as summer camps, will be a high priority once social distancing guidelines begin to loosen. We're poised to adapt as needed (see above), and ready to support your kids to safely connect with nature this summer!

Space IS STILL Available! Due to the fact that the current crisis has impacted our enrollment, we have more space than usual at this time of year. Very few sessions have waiting lists. However, we expect that to change as we get later into spring. We have spoken to many parents who are feeling very eager to get their kids back outdoors. We're also aware that many other organizations have canceled summer camps for 2020. As a result, we are expecting a huge flood of registrations once social distancing guidelines begin to be loosened. It would be a good idea to reserve your spot in camp now.

100% Refund If Needed You can register risk-free with just a deposit. If camps get canceled for any reason, including due to Covid-19, you'll receive a full refund or credit (your choice), including getting your deposit back.

Remember, Nature Connection Regulates The Nervous System. That goes for you and your kids, for all of us. After a trying few months of lockdown, your kids are going to be ready for the freedom, excitement, connection, and joy that our summer camps provide. As a parent myself, I know that YOU will be ready for the emotional regulation that our camps provide your kids, and the peace and calm that brings to your family and home.

Now is the time to secure your spot. Register RISK-FREE with just a deposit, right here. If summer camps get canceled for any reason, including Covid-19, you'll get a FULL REFUND including your deposit.

There is so much to love about Twin Eagles Summer Camps:
  • Kids get to be kids again, roaming wild and free in nature.

  • Safety. We take campers physical and emotional safety seriously, and hold every member of camp to a high standard that creates a safe space for powerful experiences to emerge.

  • Real skills, real challenges, real adventures. Trailing coyotes, making healing salves from St. Johnswort and Yarrow plants, crafting wooden bow and arrows. Does it get any better?

  • Our highly trained instructors are some of the finest in the field. First Aid/CPR certification, background checks, and a high level of training in both nature based mentoring and traditional earth skills are all requirements. Our staff are adept at really listening to kids, drawing out their passions, and engaging them fully.

  • We have the most fun! Year after year, our campers, instructors and parents consistently report that the Twin Eagles experience is the most fun, engaging, and relevant.

  • We offer a genuinely holistic experience rooted in hope, connecting with what is truly important in life - nature, community, and self.
"My boys LOVED Twin Eagles. Wish everyday of school and learning was like a day in the wild with Twin Eagles. We are grateful for all you teach and the deep nature connection you foster in each child. I wish every child could have this experience. We will be back! Thank you!"
