The Years With Our Sons Move Quickly

Hey there,

There are only a handful of years when your son is between the ages of 9 and 13.

He is old enough to face authentic challenges alongside you, yet still young enough to want you close, learn from you, and share an adventure that could stay with both of you for the rest of your lives.

That is the heart of our Father-Son Wilderness Program.

Father Son Wilderness Program

This August and September, fathers and sons will step away from phones, busy schedules, and the distractions of ordinary life for five days together in the forests of North Idaho here at Twin Eagles.

We’ll make fire by friction, track wildlife, learn traditional hunting and gathering skills, and build and sleep in primitive shelters. We’ll play hard, eat delicious food, gather around the fire, and make space for honest, heartfelt connection between fathers and sons.

I personally lead both of these sessions. They are among the few Twin Eagles programs I still guide each year, and they remain some of the experiences closest to my heart.

Let me be clear, this is not some polished resort retreat. It is a true wilderness adventure.

There will be moments that ask for courage, patience, resilience, and trust from both you and your son. Meeting those moments together is part of what makes this program so powerful. Shared adventure builds trust in a way that talking alone cannot. When the screens and distractions disappear, fathers and sons have a chance to return to the heart of their relationship.

“My son and I are truly grateful for the opportunity to deepen our relationship amidst the North Idaho wilderness. Spending five meaningful days together in deep connection was a beautiful blessing. The experience was transformative, heartfelt, and unforgettable. I’ve been sharing our story with friends and family ever since.”

We have two upcoming sessions:

Summer Session: August 21–25, 2026

Autumn Session: September 10–14, 2026

Medicine Circle Eco-Retreat
Priest River, Idaho

For fathers and their sons ages 9–13. Fathers may attend with one or two sons.

Both sessions already have a wonderful group of fathers and sons enrolled, with room for more families to join us.

If something in you has been longing for authentic, uninterrupted time to connect deeply with your son, I hope you’ll take a closer look.

These years move quickly. Five days in the wilderness together can become part of the story you and your son carry for the rest of your lives.

From the heart,

Tim

P.S. I know that clearing five days from work, school, and family life can take some effort. I also know how quickly these years with our sons pass. Sometimes the experiences that require the most effort to say yes to become the ones we are most grateful we made room for.
